 Information and Communications Technologies have transformed many aspects of socio-economic offering challenges and opportunities hence creating a demand for knowledge based society. ICT Stakeholders at all levels, Government and Private Sector need to provide every citizen in Tanzania the awareness, knowledge, skills and competences as well as the lifelong learning opportunities required for working in an increasingly information technology reach environment.

The 03rd Tanzania Annual ICT Conference 2019 (TAIC-2019) is among the important platforms used for discussion, networking and raising awareness on the global ICT affairs, business opportunities, knowledge and skills needed to cope with the dynamic digital economy. The Conference also serves as the platform for participants to discuss on enabling environment aspects for effective use of ICT as an enabling tool towards socio-economic development in Tanzania. The 3rd Tanzania Annual ICT Conference 2019 succeeds the 02nd Annual ICT Professionals (AIPC) held in October 2018 bringing together more than 400 ICT stakeholders from both Government and Private Sector, Small Medium Enterprises, Academia, ICT Entrepreneurs and the business industry.

The conference will involve discussions on a wide range of topics emphasizing on the role of ICT in social-economic development and the role of ICT as an important tool to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Tanzania. The conference will be featured with exhibitions from various ICT stakeholders showcasing their products, services and innovations.


The conference seeks to strengthen the synergy between the Tanzanian ICT Professionals, Government, Young entrepreneurs and the ICT Business community towards the advancement of ICT competency and business development in Tanzania. 


The conference will be a three days event held on 23rd - 25th October 2019 in Dar es Salaam, TANZANIA. The structure of the conference will include but not limited to the following:


A broad discussion and experience sharing of industry professional training certifications that fit existing industry requirements will be held in this session. In addition, the ICT Professionals Accreditation Framework guiding the registration and recognition of ICT Professionals in Tanzania will be presented for information to stakeholders.


How can Tanzania attract ICT investment and enhance ICT business environment from the multi-sector investment activities? The session will discuss on how the ICT industry can collectively establish investment priorities areas, profiles and propose strategies for local ICT industry to effectively participate in national mega projects.


The session will look on how the current research ecosystem is engaged in determining the future economic opportunities arising from advanced technologies. How can the ICT research fraternity undertake strategic researches which can effectively fulfil the business industry’s vision and enhance evidence based decisions made by policy decision organs? Furthermore the session will be a platform for researchers in ICT to share their research findings which can add value to the ICT development strategies in Tanzania.


The session will look into how evolving technologies shape the future organizations, production industries and socio-economic development of Tanzania. The global aspects and future opportunities of Blockchain technology, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Ether channel technology, Cloud Sourcing, Green 5G and beyond 5G systems, Digital Principles of Innovation and many others will be discussed. Furthermore the session will include broad discussion and experience sharing on mobile tech solutions like mobile money, digital identity, mobile for utility development, mobile agriculture, mobile health, mobile transportation and how the mobile communication ecosystem can have impact to the ICT industry and economic development. The session will also look into how to embrace the future opportunities that are to be enabled by the mobile industry.


Forming the backbone of the Tanzanian economy, digital technologies are transforming the way businesses operate, how citizens connect and exchange information, and their behavior on how they interact with public institutions and private organizations. This session will look into how the legal and regulatory aspects should be an enabler to the ICT governance, business development and innovation in Tanzania. The session will further enlighten best practises and applicability of the existing ICT legal and regulatory frameworks in specific sectors, corporate governance, litigation, insurance, employees, and investigatory. Key aspects which participants will share knowledge and experience in this session is understanding the evolving digital ethics, trust & privacy landscape, building and implementing robust data governance frameworks, accountability and awareness across the organization, metrics to demonstrate framework success and, legal and regulatory aspects of data protection and privacy. 


The session will look at the fast growing digital infrastructure networks and how they can cost effectively fulfil the business demands thus unlocking many business opportunities. The session will also look at the economic opportunities offered by advanced Fin Techs like, EMV chip technology, mobile wallets, Near Field Communication (NFC), Contactless, Open Transit systems and more.

Conference participation fee is TZS 400,000.00 per person. Visitors from outside Tanzania will be required to pay the participation fee of USD 200.00 per person.
